So why should you stay right away from such offers? Quite simple really. Here's what is wrong with this email and the countless number of them in a similar vein.
- You have no idea where they are from in real terms. There is no website address attached to the email
- The emails generally come from an account at Gmail. Given the number of emails these types of people send out, they would probably be shut down for spamming if they sent them from their own hosting account. I've seen the same emails several times from the same person with different Gmail accounts.
If you do receive these types of email offering small business SEO, then do not reply to them. It simply lets them know they have a live email address and they will just send you more. Even worse, they could build a list and sell it off to an unsavoury company. Just flag them as junk mail so the sender is identified for further emails and they just go to your junk folder.
If you have been the subject of a small business SEO scam, then I would love to hear your story. I hope to publish a number of these as a warning to others so they don't get caught. Simply send via the Contact Page on this site.
